The end of "iMaculada" at TAGV

They were intense days at TAGV, and the intensity was felt at various extremes. We are very happy with the enthusiastic way the show has been received. From the sessions for schools to those for the general public, everyone’s involvement in this family story has been remarkable.

 

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in “iMaculada“, to the teams that joined us and especially to the core team, who over the last few months shared experiences, researched and justified the urgency and importance of their work to the public, who was also on stage and celebrated – here’s to those who were there, but also to those who didn’t make it.

 

We can only regret the cancellation of the last performance of the show, scheduled for Friday, due to the general strike in the civil service. Of course we respect the right to strike, but three days of sessions, for a theatre company with no space to perform and create, are valuable. And they correspond to months of work, many hours negotiating with structures, looking for rehearsal spaces, rehearsing, assembling and disassembling sets, transporting them from one place to another, packing costumes and props. Basically, we’re artistic tortoises, not carrying the house on our backs, but the whole show.

 

The good news is that on 10 November, at 9.30pm, there will be one last chance to see “iMaculada”, this time in the Grand Auditorium of the Convento São Francisco, as part of the “Theatre about Science” colloquium. We’re working to ensure that as many people as possible can attend this final presentation. Tickets are available online at BOL and on CSF’s box office.
