Augmented Reality, an article by Mário Montenegro in P3
The last text of the “Hearing Voices Project” entitled “Realidade aumentada” (“Augmented Reality”) and authored by our Artistic Director, Mário Montenegro, was published on 17 February in P3. The Público Newspaper’s supplement allowed for a reflection on the whole creative process. For those who did not have the chance to watch the show, a part of the playscript for “Countless Voices” can be read here.
“It is hard for those who do not hear voices to put themselves in the shoes of those who do hear them. In an attempt to attenuate this difficulty, we tried to approach that reality, throughout the whole creation process of the play, by listening to and questioning those who live with it, and imagining the circumstances in our life experiences that would allow us to realize what that experience might be like.”
“Hearing Voices” is a project by Marionet, in partnership with Movimento Ouvir Vozes – Portugal (Hearing Voices Movement – Portugal), Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra (Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra) and Rádio Aurora – A Outra Voz (Radio Aurora – The Other Voice) in the context of the Art and Mental Health Programme of Direção-Geral das Artes (Directorate-General for the Arts).
