Lives and works in Coimbra, but was born in Oliveira do Hospital, a town in the Serra’s shadow, where she had her first contact with theatre, in extracurricular workshops. Graduated in Theatre and Education at Coimbra Higher School of Education, where she developed fundamental skills as a theatre worker. In 2021 entered the Master in Theatre Studies, at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon. She worked with names like Pedro Lamas, Mário Montenegro and António Fonseca. Currently collaborates with the Theatre Company MARIONET, where she works as an actress, dramaturge and producer. She’s living her crazy twenties, and knows less than she would like to.

Mário Montenegro was born in 1970, in Oporto. He is a director, actor, playwright, researcher, professor. He is the artistic director and a founding member of Marionet, where he directed more than 50 shows and regularly works as actor and playwright. He has published the plays “Revolução dos Corpos Celestes” (MAFIA, 2006), “Encontro em Possível” (CETUP, 2006), “A Expressão das Emoções” and “LED” (Coimbra University Press, 2018) and two translations, “Sr. de Chimpanzé” by Jules Verne (Marionet, 2010) and “Cálculo” by Carl Djerassi (Coimbra University Press, 2011). As a researcher, he is an integrated member of CEIS20 – Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Coimbra and is interested in the intersections between Performing Arts and Science. He was a guest lecturer in the Artistic Studies course at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra in the area of Theatre and Performing Arts Studies, and at the School of Arts of the Catholic University in Porto.

Lives and works in Aveiro. Born in 1954 in the city of Luanda. Lived in Portugal, Angola, Namibia, and South Africa. Attended the Michaelis School of Fine Arts, University of Cape Town, and the Course for Managers of Artistic Programming promoted by Culturgest (1998). He has held individual exhibitions of paintings – at Galeria Malhoa (São Salvador da Bahia, Brazil), Museu de Aveiro, Galeria Municipal de Aveiro, Galeria Alda Cortez (Lisbon), University of Aveiro Library, Má Arte Galeria, Fórum da Maia Centr’arte – and collective exhibitions – at the Michaelis School of Fine Arts (Cape Town, South Africa), S.N.B.A., (Lisbon), Aveiro Municipal Gallery, (Images for the 90’s) Serralves Foundation (Oporto), and Culturgest Lisbon, 7 Coimbra Gallery, Má Arte Aveiro Gallery, and other cities like Castelo Branco, Nisa, and Vila Velha de Ródão. Founding member and board member of the Associação Arte Cultura Aveiro ACAV from 1987 to 2001 (President in 1992-96). In the theatre’s field he collaborated with GretUA, C.T.A. Efémero, and the MARIONET company, besides occasional works with Teatro da Trindade, Camaleão, and Companhia de Música Teatral.
Communication consultant | Musician
He was born in Coimbra in 1980 and decided to stay. His degree and doctorate, both at dARQ / FCTUC, were in architecture, but in 2010 he began to dedicate himself to music. Since then, he founded the band Birds Are Indie, the agency Murmürio, and collaborated with the cultural association Lugar Comum. In 2018 he joined the agency Blue House, where he holds the positions of Booking Agent and Executive Producer. After a gratifying experience as musical director in a show presented by Trincheira Teatro, in 2023 he began his collaboration with Marionet, as Copywriter. For years he was addicted to Nestum, but that’s all behind him now. He spends his free time travelling, going out with friends and watching cycling, curling and snooker on TV, alongside the one he loves the most.

Silvia Carballo has a degree in Artistic Studies from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Coimbra, where she will soon complete her master’s degree in Artistic Studies. She has a degree in Cultural Management from the Faculty of Culture of the CLAEH University in Uruguay and training in Business Management and Human Resources.
She was part of the research team at the Faculty of Culture (CLAEH University) that developed the project “Los públicos del ballet nacional” (The new ballet culture in Uruguay. The BNS and its audiences. UCLAEH-Ediciones Túnel. Montevideo, 2021). She provided technical support to the “Modes of Production” project (CEIS20 – UC), under which the study “Ecological and sustainable practices in the performing arts in Portugal” was produced, as part of the FCT GREENARTS exploratory research project and whose initial enquiry phase was supported by the Directorate-General for the Arts.
Silvia has worked in the formulation and management of cultural projects, as well as in the production of shows and artistic projects, both in Uruguay and Portugal. Since 2021, she has been coordinating the Laboratory for Research and Artistic Practices (LIPA) at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Coimbra. She is a member of the editorial team of Stylo – Revista de Estudos Artísticos, which is supported by FLUC, LIPA, CEIS20 and CEIH. Currently, she is a member of the Marionet team.
Executive Producer
Vicente Paredes was born in Coimbra on February 15th, 1996. He graduated in Artistic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra where he is currently attending the course’s Master’s Degree, specialising in the area of Theatrical and Performative Studies. He was a collaborator of Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente (dir. Fernando Matos Oliveira), in Coimbra, where he worked in direct contact with technical and artistic teams (national and international) from various artistic fields. As a collaborator of TAGV, he gave support to the production and promotion, did box-office service, Front of House and Hall Assistance. He worked in several editions of events like Caminhos Film Festival (dir. Vítor Ferreira) and Festival Encontro de Novas Dramaturgias (END) – co-production TAGV and Colectivo84 (dir. Mickael de Oliveira and John Romão). In 2019 he moved to Montemor-o-Novo, Alto Alentejo, where he collaborated as Production Assistant, and was responsible for Diffusion, Circulation and Communication at Alma d’Arame Cultural Association (dir. Amândio Anastácio). Encouraged by Carlos Costa (artistic dir. of Visões Úteis), professor of the discipline of Dramaturgy and Theatrical Writing of the Master’s Degree in Artistic Studies, in 2019 he presented the show “Restos Mortais de” (mortal remains of), within the scope of “O Festival Mais Pequeno do Mundo” (The Smallest Festival in the World) – presented on June 27th at Teatro de Bolso, venue of the Students Theatre of the University of Coimbra (TEUC).

She finished his Theater Degree at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, in 2017, with the show Primeira Imagem, by John Romão, at Teatro Nacional D. Maria II. She carried out several training courses, focusing on the exploration of the body in the scenic space and the voice as an instrument of expression, with professionals such as João Garcia Miguel, Mónica Calle, João Fiadeiro, Joana Pupo, among others. Professionally, she has most recently worked with the Marionet company on Jenny Chow’s Intelligent Design; with Teatro da Garagem in several editions of After De Babel; in Zero, by Herlandson Duarte, part of the Try Better, Fail Better Cycle, at Teatro da Garagem; and in Menos Emergências, staged by Ricardo Neves-Neves. In cinema, he has worked with directors such as Micheal Sturminger and Vicente Alves do Ó.

Graduated in Artistic Studies from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra, attended the Musicals Course at EMAP-Primeiro Acto.
Has been an actress since 2017, when she was selected by the Viv’arte Theatre Company as a resident artist. This partnership, which lasted until 2019, resulted in numerous street and stage shows, among which she stood out as an actress in “Os Amores Ocultos de D. Afonso IV” (dir. Mário da Costa, 2018), “Les Fabliaux – Contos Eróticos Medievais” (dir. Natália Barbosa, 2018), and “Capitãs de Lesbos” (dir. Ana Filipe Costa, 2019). Also in 2017, Beatriz fronted the musical project Eva’s Sin as lead singer. In 2019, she joined the Ensemble/Support Group for the musical “RENT” (dir. Sofia de Castro). She also took part in a series of concerts in partnership with Encontro de Sons.
Beatriz returned to the theatre with the Almanach company in “Mulheres e Lugares – ReACT” (dir. Mário da Costa, 2022) and since then she has been a regular collaborator with the same company in private events. In 2023, she starred in “Contra-Indicações” (dir. Mário Montenegro). It was thanks to this project that Beatriz was selected that same year as an Elizabeth MacLennan fellow for the SUISS intensive course in Theatre and Performance.

Born in Almada, in 1997. She has a degree in Theater from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. At Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II, she took part in shows by Tiago Rodrigues, Teresa Coutinho, Ricardo Neves-Neves and Maria João Luís and staged readings by Lígia Soares and Tiago Guedes. In 2022, she joined the cast of “Pour que les vent se lèvent”, an international co-production by Teatro Nacional São João and Thèâtre National de Bordeaux, staged by Nuno Cardoso and Catherine Marnas. He is passionate about emerging technology, cinema, teaching, and performing new works. He earned his PhD at UC Irvine with his research Adventures in Quantumland (quantumland.art). He also earned his MA in Music Theory and Composition at ESMAE with his research on the relations between music and painting.
