“The Meaning of Everything” is the third creation of a triptych dedicated to the theme Systems, after “The Secret Gland” (2017) and “The Empathic Limbo” (2018). The first show dealt with body systems, the second with artificial intelligence systems, and this third is about world knowledge systems.

In our artistic work’s relation with science, we have focused on researching it at a disciplinary level (e.g., astronomy, physics, neurosciences, ecology). After 22 years of artistic activity related to several scientific fields, we believe it is opportune to reflect on a broader level about the differences, similarities, and intersections between these two great areas of knowledge.
This idea of art as a way of knowledge is where we start from. Artistic and scientific research are two complementary ways of discovering and transforming the world, each with its own methods and languages. Both Art and Science are complex systems that evolve over time. Nowadays, in a world in which knowledge production in both systems still has relatively well-established limits, we need to research (as we already do) the points where these limits are blurred, and where the borders are less defined.
Through small experiments on stage, we try to contribute to the knowledge of parts of the whole that make up the world and our existence. We focused our research (in an unoriginal but urgent way) on our perception of the accelerated transformations that our planet is going through, and how we are reacting to those changes.
We look at the past, the present, the future, the temporary and the timeless, the human and the non-human. We talk about encyclopaedias, superscripts, clay, CO2, cryptocurrency, dinosaurs, bicycles, language, and many other building and destroying things.
We made a song that gives us pleasure to sing.
