After the presentation of the documentary “APNEA“, an informal conversation took place, gathering health professionals, scientists, patients, and the creators of the documentary. This was another initiative within the “To sleep or not to sleep?” project, developed by Marionet in partnership with the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra and the Portuguese Sleep Association, which began in September 2018. This project’s essential goal is to raise awareness among the public and health professionals about the importance of sleep and, in particular, about Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS).

This conversation takes place after the screening of the documentary “APNEIA“.
The guests were Isaías Craveiro, a sleep apnea patient; Joaquim Moita, a pneumologist and coordinator of the Sleep Medicine Centre (CMS) of the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre (CHUC); Mafalda Ferreira, a senior diagnostic and therapeutic technician of the CMS; Núria Madureira, a paediatrician in pulmonology and sleep at the Coimbra Paediatric Hospital; Ana Rita Álvaro, a researcher at the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC UC) and a specialist in sleep disorders; and Mário Montenegro, the artistic director of Marionet and the documentary APNEA.
This event was also open to the participation of the public, who was able to share their personal experience or express their doubts and opinions.
