After the last performance of “Ego” on 26 April 2015, we hosted a conversation about the dramatic work of Carl Djerassi, at Teatro da Cerca de São Bernardo, with particular emphasis on his plays that were translated and performed in Portugal.
Special guests included actor and director Júlio Cardoso, artistic director of Seiva Trupe, and chemist and university professor Manuel João Monte, who directed and translated, respectively, two plays by the American writer that were produced by that Porto company. Manuel João Monte was also the godfather of the Honorary Doctorate that Djerassi received from the University of Porto in 2001.
